- Effective 4 Jan 2016 , access to PTMS will be via
Singpass only. Please refer to the enhanced Singpass website
(www.singpass.gov.sg) for information on how to
register/update your Singpass.

- Please note that If you have changed your
Residential Status from FIN holder to NRIC holder in
Singapore, you will need to register the change with
Singapore Medical Council (SMC) before you can login to PTMS
using your new Singpass ID.
|
|
|
- A1: The application modules of the PTMS will "go
live" in June 2008. The Logbook module will be implemented
in Nov 2008.
|
|
|
- A2: Yes, including sub-specialties like Palliative
Medicine.
|
|
|
- A3: Yes, the Associate Deans' Office can submit the
reports online.
|
|
|
- A4: Currently, the JCST Secretariat verifies the
application details.
|
|
|
|
|
- A5: No. All trainees' records are kept confidential.
Only the trainee, relevant supervisors, authorised
administrators and secretariat staff are able to view the
records.
|
|
|
- A6: No. The names of the trainees' training
supervisors will be keyed into the system by the Associate
Dean's Office executives. Traineeship applicants however can
indicate the training supervisor for their last posting in
their online application module.
|
|
|
- A7: Yes, trainees can print out the electronic
receipts for payment of various fees and submit them to
their hospitals for reimbursement.
|
|
|
- A8: Yes, all fees payable to JCST secretariat
including exit examinations conducted by JCST can be paid
using the PTMS system. However, trainees need to make direct
payments to overseas institutions for overseas examinations.
|
|
|
- A9: No, currently only doctors with MCR No and SMC
password/Singpass password can access the system to apply
for traineeship. International Medical Graduate doctors who
wish to apply for conditional traineeship are to apply
through the JCST secretariat.
|
|
|
- A10: No. Your particulars would have been migrated
over to the PTMS system.
|
|
|
- A11: You need to submit manually the Retrospective
Accreditation Application Forms to the JCST secretariat. The
PTMS module for retrospective accreditation will be rolled
out in a later phase.
|
|
|
|
|
- A12: Currently this function is not in place but
we'll be including it in future enhancements.
|
|
|
- A13: Associate Dean's Office executives are aware of
the secondary supervisors assigned by the department
secretary. They will input the supervisor details into the
system.
|
|
|
- A14: Yes, if the HOD authorises the person in a
letter of authorisation to the designated Associate Dean's
Office.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- A16: No. A separate request has to be lodged with
the with the respective Associate Dean's Office executives
to make the amendments.
|
|
|
- A17: No. Supervisors' assessment of trainees will be
submitted to the secretariat directly. Regular communication
of trainees' performance should be done via the monthly
meetings between training supervisors and trainees or at
least once during the six-monthly "Meet The Trainee Session"
(MTTS).

|
|
- A18: No, supervisors are not able to view previous
assessments by other supervisors. They can however view
other records eg previous postings.
|
|
|
- A19: Secondary supervisors can view the trainees'
records. However for assessment of trainees' performance,
they will need to inform the primary supervisor who is in
overall charge of the trainees.
|
|
|
- A20: No. Secretariat will prepare the relevant
training assessment reports (commonly known as pro-forma)
for STCs during the MTTS and exit interview.
|
|
|
- A21: No, this depends on the posting duration. If it
is a 3-month posting, the pro-forma assessment will be done
accordingly at the end of the 3-month posting.
|
|
|
- A22: Email notifications would be sent to the
training supervisor who can also subscribe to SMS
notification by the PTMS.
|
|
|
- A23: Yes the STCs should continue to use whatever
unique assessment forms in assessing the performance of
their trainees. This should not be confused with the
supervisors' pro-forma assessments done through the PTMS at
the end of each posting.
|
|
|
- A24: No. IMIS system is a HR appraisal system used
by SingHealth. Cluster HR have a different assessment
system, mainly for ranking and promotion.
|
|
|
- A25: No, the posting assessment module in the PTMS
is the same for all institutions and applies to all active
trainees in all institutions.
|
|
|
- A26: No, only the traineeship applicant's last
completed posting's assessment would be made available to
the traineeship selection panel.
|
|
|
|
|
- A27: No. Existing trainees shall continue to use
their existing hardcopy logbooks to record their cases.
With regards to the Nov 08 intake, only new trainees
in Internal Medicine, General Surgery and Family Medicine
need to use the online logbooks. Online logbooks for other
specialties will be rolled out in phases.
|
|
|
- A28: There is no refund for the purchases. Existing
trainees should continue to use their existing logbooks to
log their training details as they are not required to use
the online logbooks.
|
|
|
- A29: Existing ASTs are to continue recording their
entries using the hardcopy logbooks. The online logbooks
will be applicable to new BSTs of Internal Medicine, General
Surgery and Family Medicine in Nov 08.
|
|
|
- A30: Yes, the briefing on the Logbook Module will be
held in Oct 2008.
|
|
|
|
